Hi folks
Thank you for registering your child for our Easter Track camp. Below are a few details relating to the two days. The coaches at the sessions will be myself, Tony Woods and Eddie Lynch. George is also going to help us out over the two days.
We will start each day at 10am and run to 2pm. We have a full schedule and want to get the most out of the two days so please arrive early enough that riders are ready to warm up together from 10am. I will be there by c. 9.20am – if you need a bike, shoes etc. from the clubhouse please arrive in good time.
We will have two groups over the two days with a good mix of experienced riders and riders relatively new to track. Each group will alternate between on-track activities and activities in the in-field. If anyone gets tired and wants to sit out one or more of the drills that’s absolutely fine. This applies particularly to the younger group – 4 hours is a long time at the track….. The track will be busy throughout both days – safety is paramount and we will be strictly applying the rules. We will have a rider briefing at the beginning of each day.
Parents are not required to hang around during the day but you are welcome to stay if you wish to. If you are staying in the velodrome please let all of the riders sit together and have parents a little removed.
The weather forecast looks dry(ish) but not very warm. I would recommend bringing plenty of warm clothes and rain gear, both for riding in and when sitting around. Bring sunscreen too – when it does appear it is intense. Please make sure riders have plenty of food with them too.
