Women’s Masters Track Cycling TRAINING /TESTING DAY Saturday 9 th June 2012 Location: Eamonn Ceannt Stadium, Sundrive Track Time: 2pm – 5pm We would like to promote women’s track cycling this year & in particular the Masters age category (born 1977 or before) with the big goal being the Masters World Championships. Ireland have had great success at this level of cycling with Aideen Collard and World Champion Orla Hendron medalling at the championships.
At the women’s commission we firmly believe that Ireland has even more potential medal winners competing on the road & in triathlon. Ladies that perhaps had not considered racing on the track & have little knowledge or understanding of this exciting sport! If you are in this category, whether you have ridden track before or not, we would like you to come to this training day. We will introduce you to fixed wheel riding, but we will also take some base figures from pursuit distances on your road bikes. -The Women's Commission are backing this venture and will provide training and support for riders in this category with overseas track time opportunities to those who partake in the initiative on they attend prescribed training sessions at home first or are seen to be attending other track racing and training sessions on the track. To give us an idea of those attending please e-mail / call to confirm your place. If you have any questions about the track , the training day or would like to register please get in contact with me on 0870520847 or
