Cycling Ireland Schools Initiative: PDF Print

The ‘Cycling Ireland Schools Initiative’ aim is to introduce Track Cycling and our facility at Sundrive Road to school children from 6tht class upwards.

If you are interested an experienced Coach from the Track Commission can call to your school give a short introductory presentation on this fast growing sport.

The session includes:

  • PowerPoint presentation
  • ‘Show and Tell’ with a track bike outlining the differences between road and track bikes.
  • An opportunity to try out a Track Bike.
This is done on a ‘static’ bike (depends on available space)
  • Questions and answers.

If there is sufficient interest the school can avail of the Sundrive Road track by arranging a session at the track with our coaches.

Here the students will learn more about bike skills and track racing, in a safe environment under the guidance of our Coaches.

The Cycling Ireland Track Commission has a range of track bikes available at cycling track in Eamon Ceannt Park. They come in all sizes and we have bikes suitable for riders from approximately 8 years old upwards.

Some schools have already availed of this and had a very successful and fun day.

If you want your school to avail of this new exciting initiative and our facility please contact Stephen Gibbons at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or mobile 087 6697383.
